In our family, every recipe starts the same way—someone says, “I think we can make this even kinder.” That’s how it’s always been, ever since Porkchop’s great-great-great-somebody first started stirring up plant-forward goodness in a tiny Colorado kitchen nearly forty years ago.
Back then, the goal was simple: keep dogs happy, help their bellies stay calm, and make mealtimes feel like a small act of love. We carry that same spirit forward today. Every topper, sprinkle, and crumble is crafted in small batches, using clean, honest, nutrient-rich ingredients that brighten bowls and bring joy back to the routine.
We’re a little eccentric, sure. A little nostalgic, too. But that’s what happens when you grow up in a long line of recipe-keepers and four-legged taste testers. Around here, we believe in warm kitchens, wagging tails, and food that makes everyone—the dog and the human—a little happier.
Plant-forward. Belly-friendly. Made with love. “A calm belly makes for a gentle heart.”
Where did the Meal Topper craze begin?
"Miss Porkchop's Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother's people created their meal topper almost 40 years ago in the Colorado high country.
"Launching Granny's original meal topper to a wider audience came to me like a fever dream. After years of global travel building Pork Chop Media Group, I needed a change. So, there I was at 3am. It could have been Paris, Milan or maybe Manitowoc. It'd been a long tour of press junkets and I was watching foody shows. In that moment of exhaustion, I knew it was time for me to leverage my fame."
Laying there on that canape,' her nose-mouth started twitching. The recipes began to create themselves, so she called in her sleepy-time team from their various rooms. The GP-made espressos (No espresso for Pedro) and they got busy.
"You may think of me as a media mogul, or global fashion icon, but I grew up with humble surroundings, learning to cook from my Great, Great Granny PorkChop Coriander." This was long before she became Emcee MPC, or as SPIN MAGAZINE dubbed her, "The Sniffy Miss."
"Thanks to my team for helping get this off the ground. A special shout out to Eddie Money, Jasper Bundletanninton and my Rabbit homies. Stay Quispy and always eat good food."
